Getting Here
We are right alongside the rail trail between Unity Road East and Haldibrook road. Many people spend the day riding the trail and jump off to visit the zoo before continuing on. There are many areas to lock a bicycle and park your off terrain vehicles. Bring a packed lunch and enjoy one of our many picnic areas!
The Haldimand Chippewa trail connects the Hamilton Chippewa trail at Haldibrook Road and runs 2.7 kilometres south along the old Georgia Pacific rail line to Haldimand Road 66 near Caledonia then it will take you off road along the Grand River to the hamlet of York.
Every visit is a new adventure into the animal kingdom.
Please Note:
This is the zoos direct line to the office, there is not always someone to answer the phone right away as we could be busy on the grounds tending to the animals and patrons. Please leave us a message and we will try to get back to you as soon as we can as the machine and messages are checked several times daily. Please email all major inquiries and questions. Thanks so much!

Highly recommend this Zoo if you like big cats (white lions, tigers, jaquars, cougar, lynx, etc.) and other animals. You can also buy food at the zoo to feed the highland cows, sheep's, goats, deers, pecarry, etc.) It is simply great visit for family, friends, and animal lovers. The staff are very knowledgeable and have lots of stories and facts to share - highly suggest catching a feeding tour. If you’re there on a day without a feeding tour; stay right until closing. They fed them within the last hour before closing and made most of the animals very active. Nicole Pereira2025-08-01Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is a hidden gem. The animals are healthy and well cared for. I look forward to returning.
